The school year has ended and the students at Children’s Workshop dispersed like seeds for the summer. Thankfully, we have the Boys Club of New York City around the corner and they are engaged to help tend the Straw Bale and Three Sisters Garden during the hot summer months.
We ran a worm composting project with the boys, which we’ll tell you about in an upcoming post. And they LOVE watering the garden (which is great, because that is the most important task at this stage). They’ve harvested some lettuce and greens and will be back to continue to tend and harvest regularly.
